Vision Statement

Consuella B. York Alternative High School acknowledges that students are diverse learners with various strengths and challenges.

The purpose of education in York's unique environment, is to promote academic achievement, productive citizenship, and to supports student' emotional, social and physical well being, within a nurturing, rigorous, non-threatening educational environment.

 

Mission Statement

Consuella B. York Alternative High School will provide students with necessary skills for post-secondary preparation and independent, lifelong learning in an ever evolving society.

This will be accomplished by educating student within an inclusive and nurturing environment, using a standards-based curriculum, and providing students with various opportunities that promote social awareness, participation in extra-curricular activities, positive conflict-resolution strategies, technology competence, and viable transition goals.

Congratulations Aimee Gose, a junior in Division 4, who won first place in the 2011 Reading is Fundamental in Chicago Essay Contest.

Aimee's essay was awarded a $250 prize - the highest prize for all CPS high school students!
